Better than new
Spyder update:
All "restoration" work is complete; Spyder is back home with new PPF and coating from Darien Detail in CT.
Xpel Ultimate Full Frontal Coverage
-Final Polishing
-Headlights wrapped
-Full Hood
-Full Front Bumper
-Full Front Fenders
-Mirrors
-Windshield surround
-Full Rocker Panel Coverage in Xpel Ultimate
-CQuartz Finest Reserve
-Wheels and Calipers Coated
Also, I spent 35+ hours on the car, polishing, cleaning and protecting the interior, plastic trim, glass, rubber seals, convertible top, exhaust tips, carbon fiber, taillights, plastic window, and cleaning underside of the vehicle. I also installed a new front spoiler; since the previous owner scraped it up a bit.

very very nice. I just moved to Rowayton, CT and went to Darien Detail for a quote not too long ago. Owner gave me a quick tour, and the place is an extremely professional outfit. Looking to bring mine in soon for some correction and new ppf.
Side question - do you ever meet up with fellow Cayman owners in the CT area?

Sorry, for the confusion, not at all 3600 miles one owner as good as it gets. I enjoy detailing and am meticulous about maintaining my cars. Even when I purchase new, the paint gets cleaned and polished before coating and PPF etc., just me being me, paint is now "perfect" definitely better than when new. All new cars come from the factory with some level of imperfection, depending on how the dealer washes and treats the car it only gets worse. Here is the section around the rear emblem after I polished it.

Oh, I understand... I thought maybe you bought a wrecked Spyder and have been restoring it to brand new condition. Well, regardless, the car looks amazing. Any pics of the interior?

Three Wheelin'
I wish I had the patience, equipment, and skill to get my car to this level. Sadly, I'll likely have to pay someone else to do it, and it will be catastrophically expensive.
My car has almost 55k miles on it, and the factory ppf is not doing so well. The paint is acceptable but far, far from perfect and has a few rock chips that either have already been (not very well) repaired or need repairing. Some preliminary research on pricing has me somewhere in the $2500 range for full correction and ppf, and then coating on top of that would drive that up more unless I find a shop willing to cut me a deal.
Which is why I'm actually considering learning to at least do the correction myself. I know it will be a significant upfront investment in both time and money, but probably not much more than it would cost for me to pay someone to do it, plus I'd gain a new skill and have the equipment to show for it.
I still have a couple months of too-hot-to-bother weather here in the midatlantic, and then I have a choice to make.
