Wish I could count myself among the ranks of you original owners. Came close to pulling the trigger on a new Guards Red 2011 at Walter's Porsche, and always regretted that I didn't. When the 981 Spyder was announced, I thought, well, here's my second chance and I wasn't about to let the opportunity pass me by again. I'm guessing some who are positioning themselves now for the 982 passed on earlier versions for whatever reason and are now feeling upbeat about a third bite at the apple.

Are you referring to me. I traded in mine, it sat on the dealers show room floor for a week or so ( thank God for bad weather) my wife and I missed it so I bought it back for the same price and got CPO warranty extension. Since the dealer never transferred or registered the title the state has only my name on the title as the first and second owner, that was almost 5 years ago. Additionally because of the bad weather only 5 miles were put on the car while in their hands . Good luck on my part as today I think it would have been gone within a day

I've had my eye on non-black/buckets/manual Spyders for a while now. Maybe one will pop up.

No I didn't realize you had sold and bought yours back! That is definitely a very common trend with Spyders, those that appreciate what it's about regret selling them.

Only1Buck is the original owner of his red Spyder. I recall him selling it and then buying.

Technically you are an original owner, just a newer model. I have a feeling you will have yours for a long long time.

1. Manual gear box. 2. 6-speed. 3. Short shift kit. 4. Sport exhaust 5. Bucket seats. 6. a/c and radio delete. 7. Ceramic brakes.

Just the bare essentials IMO.

I'm an original owner 2011 Arctic Silver, LWB, PDK. This has to be up there with crazy stories I actually sold/traded for another Porsche up North and wound up buying it back before it was picked up for transport LOL.
I wound up eventually selling and was able to find "perfect" spec 987 Spyder bare bones White, Blk interior, manual, LWB, PSE, short shifter, A/C & radio delete.
Steel brakes though. I like the red calipers and that the car matches identical to the way Porsche launched it.
Had her out yesterday morning yes in FL in the summer LOL. I'm blessed to have other rides and access to the best and greatest current and Porsche products but thus far enjoy the Spyder more than anything else.

So glad to be part of the original Boxster Spyder club!

Yep, still have it after all these years. It has around 36k miles on it now. Put a smile on my face every time I take it out.

Although not the original owner (I’m the third)... might as well be with only 935 miles on the clock at purchase. Love this thing for so many reasons! Hard to believe I’m on my 5th 987.2 Spyder.

Jaci please post up some pics of your Spyder, it sounds awesome. I seriously debated getting cream white with black full leather and black wheels, it looked awesome in the configurator.

This is my new favourite thread. Sadly 981 version owner but I'd LOVE to try one. Any UK owners like to swap for a day?

The sound of a/c delete is slightly tempting in a purist kinda way. But I have to say, in so Cal even with the top down I am often glad I have a/c. It's just too damn hot in slow traffic and at stop lights.
