Default 981 Product Innovation: Metal Cast X-Pipes

Innovation is a key part of our success.

We recently updated several of our Boxster/Cayman products, including our 981 Boxster/Cayman Maxflo Performance Exhaust System, replacing independent dual outlets with a cast X-Pipe.

A lot has changed since 2005, when Fabspeed first designed and fabricated an exhaust system for the 987. We have been advancing rapidly as a company and so has the technology available to us. We are excited to have more metal casting capabilities than ever before, allowing us to feature full cast x-pipe sections on a wider range of products. The X-Pipe configuration creates a scavenging effect, which pulls exhaust through faster, substantially increasing air flow throughout the entire system and creating a more exotic exhaust tone. This new setup is even better than our previous one, and absolutely blows Porsche’s OEM t-outlet muffler out of the water.

This system adds +13 WHP and +11 ft/lbs. of TQ in the middle of the rev range, as you can see in the Dyno Chart below. On top of these great performance gains, the system adds a fantastic, exotic exhaust note and saves 9 lbs. off the rear of the vehicle.

Let me know if anyone has any questions or would like to put an order in and I’d be happy to help you out.

Thanks guys.
