Finally Pulled the trigger!! Cayman S
I had narrowed my search down to a car in CA, IL or TX when one popped up 27 miles from me in MD. It was nearly the exact car I was looking for 2 owner, non smokers, 06 40k miles Carrara White w/ black interior, 6sp, Sport Chrono, PSM, BOSE 18" rims (would have liked the 19" in a perfect world), has LED spars, and a nice Sony Bluetooth touch screen AV unit, most maintenance records and clean car fax. Came back with a clean PPI and I was off to make a deal.
I come from a high HP muscle car background as I was worried the 300ish HP would disappoint me, boy was I wrong. I can barely wipe the smile off my face as I roll into the throttle, the car is so smooth and handles like nothing I have ever owned. I am beyond happy to be a "P" car owner finally. If I have any complaints it is the older installed 3M Rock and Chip 3 guard installed is slightly discolored (front bumper, half hood, roof front, mirrors, fenders half, side panels, wheel lips) and the dirt lays right up against the edge, but I figure I pull it off this winter and have some XPEL installed most likely, and who ever installed the front license plate tag with 4 sheet metal screws should be shot...lol Ill remedy that as well with a repair or a GT3 style cover as well.
Looking forward to driving it a lot, doing the maintenance and modify a little to my taste as time goes on. Ordered some clear markers for the front, they will look better with the tinted rear lights.

Congrats. That’s a beaut!
Before you really make a decision about pursuing 19” wheels, I would drive with the 18s you have for awhile to see how they perform. I know people who auto cross and track their cars often prefer the 18s on these 987.1 models.
I have 19s on mine and wish they were 18s. The 19s have too little sidewall and the 987.1 suspension wasn’t tuned for the sharpness and stiffness of 19s, IMO. The 981 suspension is different and accommodates 19s well.

Congrats on the new Cayman, i'm sure you will love it just as much as we do. Scott here at Fabspeed Motorsport, when the time comes for some upgrades, give me a shout. I'd love to chat with you about some simple upgrades to really wake that Cayman up.
We have a TON of great options for the 987 that will increase horsepower, torque, cut weight, and just make for an overall awesome driving experience
Check out the website Fabspeed Cayman 987 and feel free to reach out and PM for any questions!!!

Ditto on that. Those are good looking wheels, and if you happen to have less than perfect roads, the 18's will be much happier than 19's. I recently driven both a Cayman S and an R that had 18's, and the crappy Denver roads were still a bit harsh on them.

Beautiful car Rick! I also come from a background of American Muscle, and my Z28 project has essentially at since I bought my Cayman R haha. If I might recommend, make race headers and a tune a priority on you mod list. You will be rightfully surprised at how much of a difference it makes to the powercurve.

Love the way white displays the body lines on these Caymans, nice choice. On wheels, I will respectfully disagree on the 19’s, albeit with the reference point of the open top 987.1 I’m peddling. Mine came with 18’s, loved the car. Picked up factory 19’s, put them on and immediately said “oh, yeah”. Just the right amount of sharpening that the Boxster S needed.
YMMV and personal preference is just that. Just my 2 cents. Perhaps you can sample a follow PCA’rs car locally to check your preference.
Nice find, enjoy!
