Default 2015 CGTS values

Hi all

In the market for a 15/16 CGTS and noticing at least on CarGurus that most of the lower mileage 2015 cars are showing as overpriced on their instant market by a few thousand $ and don’t seem to be moving but the 2016 seem to all be around market value according to CarGurus IMV.

How accurate is cargurus as an indicator to value.

Not very, IMO. If most cars are showing as overpriced, the calculator is wrong. It's kind of like KBB - useful to some degree, but not necessarily very close to the real numbers.

The best part of CarGurus is knowing how long its been for sale and the price history. Most dealers seem to aim high to start, and start dropping the price after 30 days or so.

I know of 2 very well optioned '15 CGTS that were for sale here in the classifieds. Both asked $69K

Both were bought by dealers for asking within days.

Now for sale at 10 - 15% more.

I have a 2016 GTS, MSRP was $90 K with 14 K miles.

I was thinking of trading it in on a GT4 - my dealer offered me $65 K

Make sure to take a GOOD drive in the GT4. I recently swapped my Spyder for a good hill climb in a GT4 and enjoyed it but both the owner and I concluded the Spyder for daily driving was the one to have. This may be the case of your CGTS as well. The GT4's a RAW noisy little GT car which is cool if that's what you want. I found it even noisier than the GT3's I was looking at.

I appreciate your input. I enjoy my CGTS tremendously and to me it’s one of the most fun street compliant sports cars out there.

A few of the reasons i was considering a GT4 was that i was looking for a little more HP and also my rides tend to be a few hours of spirited back road driving for a 100 to a 150 miles on average.

I’m also seriously considering a a Spyder since it’s almost if not equally compliant as a CGTS but the Spyder has the advantage of having that extra HP.

Agate Grey - Manual. CPO valid to July 2022. Approximately 14k miles. All services up to date and performed by a Porsche dealer with warranty book stamped.

Here’s a copy of the build sheet.

The Spyder may just be the car for you. I have other cars I use during the week but in the evenings and early am's on the weekend the Spyder is unleashed. It's a remarkable car and very much more that the sum of all it's parts. It seems to be the perfect mix of power, sublime steering feel and tossability that makes it so much fun. Mine's a Gen 1 which means it's considerably more manual and less power than that Gen 2 with it's fantastic BEAST of a 3.8. It perhaps lacks a bit of power but this is easily made up by actively rowing through the gears. I went from an 08 TT 997.1 cab into one of these. This one, the silver over red is the second on I've had. So I'm a "repeat Spyder buyer" = they're that good.

Have fun on your hunt. You may just end up right back where you are with your CGTS but you'll have some fun in the process.
