981s Rear bumper vent
Looking for ways to expel hot engine compartment air.
I am contemplating installing a screen in the area where the rear license plate is installed. Then cut some holes in the shield above the mufflers (underneath the car) and use some deflectors to "guide" the hot air out the back. My bumper already has a square hole from a previously installed bumper hitch which might help. The goal is to assist the cooling system in keeping oil temps down. I already have the GT4 nose with the GT3 center radiator.
This is strictly a track car. The GT3 center radiator helps, but I'm at mile high altitude so I can always use more cooling.
I think also, the thermos on the 981S are programmed in such a way as to allow less than optimum cooling, but we can't prove that. Maybe it's just all about the altitude.
Anybody here done this? If so, would you mind sharing what you did and results you experienced?
Thanks in advance.
