Not able to reset airbag light or tpms with aftermarket radio installed??
My 987.2 is in service for a few issues. One, I had previously disconnected the instrument cluster to wrap the top cover in Alcantara and after I re-connected I lost the option to reset the tpms. After researching this it seems that when disconnected sometimes the option is deselected and can only be "turned back on" through the Durametric. Second, I swapped my airbag and wheel and must not have waited long enough after disconnecting the battery and got an airbag light. Anyway, my local independent Porsche specialist shop (who I trust as a knowledgeable folks) just informed me they have spent quite some time trying to turn the tpms option back on and reset the airbag light to no avail. They believe that the reason is that the ecu is looking for a signal from the oem radio head unit, which I swapped out for a Pioneer head unit, and cannot do the re-coding without it. Does that sound right to folks familiar with the Durametric? Both the tpms issue and the airbag light occurred before the radio was swapped but I suppose the shop is only claiming that they can't be corrected without the oem head unit back in. I will be pretty upset if I have to swap the stock head unit back in just to correct these issues. I don't care about the tpms but I can't pass an inspection with an airbag light on. Any thoughts/advice welcome. Thx

I don't know enough to help you but when I replaced my CDR-23 in my 2006 CS, after the install the check engine light came on and my Durametric said that the fault code was the PSM Steering input and needed to be recalibrated. I was able to do this using the Durametric and haven't had any issues since. Odd that the stereo would affect steering (no steering wheel controls in my car).
