After one year have had zero cels with Fabspeed race headers / Cobb tune on my 981 GTS. Did not change anything but the headers (installed by pcar dealer) and I flashed it right before the header install. Stock TB / plenum, was advised changing them on 981 wasn't necessary for more power. Doesn't help folks with issues, but not everyone has trouble. Love the sound, love the power. Good luck with resolution.

Just wanted to let you know we’re still here to support you if need be. Keep us posted on how the 02 sensor replacement goes and if that solves the issue. That should take care of it but if for some reason the problem persists please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I did the Fabspeed sport headers and a Cobb tune several months ago on my 2010 BS. No CELS ever. Love the sound -- especially under load. Sounds like something big from Jurassic Park is behind me!
After a year of reading the posts here, my conclusion is that it's the Cobb (or other vendor) tune / ECU flash which solves the CEL problems.
Good luck!

Thank you everyone for your feedback and sharing your experience. I installed Cargraphic headers and mufflers two years ago on my 987.2 Spyder (with prior aggreement from my P dealer that they would still honor my warranty). No cell no issues with extending and hooking up to sensors? It sounds incredible, not too loud but there are a few areas that have some drone. I also bought a Cobb protune (and CF tips) from Fabspeed but elected to hold off on the install until my warranty expired. Now that my warranty has expired I was going to keep the headers but replace the Cargraphic muffler with the original PSE (everyone says that combo is the cats pajamas) and finally install the Cobb Tune. I didn’t want to screw things up if people are having issues with headers and Cobb pro-tune combo .

In case this comment was directed at me...The P1090 and P1094 turned out to NOT be related to the O2 sensors - much to my chagrin! However, I did reach out to IPD and they suggested I replace the MAF sensor. I promptly did - and enjoyed another round of remove and reinstall plenum/TB - and sure enough, next time I turned the engine, the CEL was off. I didn't even have to clear it, it simply was gone after going through the startup process for a post-plenum/TB install. I've come to the conclusion that messing with the 'breathing apparatus' of an engine comes with its challenges, but nothing insurmountable. Best of luck!

Do you think the intake plenum caused the MAF to fail prematurely or do you think it was somehow damaged during the initial install? I haven’t heard of many MAF’s failing on these cars, at least not yet.

Can you share more information on the how you arrived at the “resolutions”, O2 sensors replaced, cause burnout form headers, resolution sell headers? Thanks!

I took the car to Precision Motorsports in NJ as suggested by a fellow Rennlister (Thank you again Fred) and they replaced the Fabspeed race headers with no cats with the stock headers and went through a drive cycle and took it to inspection and it passed no issues. While I miss the extra sound I don't want to have to deal with the issue every two years when I take the car for inspection. I will be putting the Fabspeed race headers up for sale.

Thanks, sound is the one thing that is missing on the 987.2, lucky we don’t have inspections here in MI

This is only anecdotal, but MAF issues with the plenum/TB mod are not uncommon.
Has anyone experienced a MAF problem with only a header/exhaust mod?

I myself and countless of my customers are running race headers, exhaust, tune, etc and have never had an issue with the MAF. I've also had numerous customers running the IPD/82mm TB setup without MAF failures but many do have CEL codes thrown for the increased airflow that need to be tuned out. I haven't seen much if any improvement on the dyno on the 3.4L cars from the IPD/82mm TB, though there is a notable improvement in the responsiveness/smoothness of the powercurve. The 3.8L GT4/Spyder I've seen about 10hp so it is more of a ROI on the larger displacement engines.
