Spyder owner"s thoughts on the New Speedster
The Speedster Concept has some Spyder styling cues and I'm wondering what other Spyder owners think about the NEW SPEESTER? Also: Is this openair NA 4.0 two seater the one that was promised thus making the upcoming Spyder a 4H? Anyway, just thought I would ask....

It’s already been confirmed from the GT4 CS Customers (Whoopsy) that the 982 GT4 Coupe and Spyder will be a NA6 4.0 (3.8 stroked to 4.0) with 420hp and Manual only transmission.
Speedster is not a Spyder replacement for many reasons.

On the list for Spyder and Speedster. Porsche isn't rolling out too many dogs lately. Only reason I turned down a GT3 is because no backseat and no ragtop, and no plan to track it. Not the right combo for me.
If Speedster is available with a manual and I can get one, hell yeah. And if I can replace current Spyder with another Spyder a couple years before that, with a 4.0 and MT and maybe PTS and not take a bath on this one, again, why the hell not? Not seeing the downside here, fellas.

Wouldnt bet the bank on that. I am hearing differently for the gt4. Guess we have to wait and see.

Whoopsy, a GT4 CS owner was in fact previewed the 718 GT4 CS at Weissach from the Motorsport Division about a month ago... which sells direct to customers, not through dealers. I have also heard from another (non related) current GT4 CS owner that the 718 GT4 CS currently in the final testing stage and is currently testing on US soil at the moment for the next race season. The GT4 CS is required to have the same motor as the street version of the GT4.
He confirmed:
-Naturally Aspirated 6 cylinder
-3.8 stroked to 4.0
-420 horsepower
-Transmissions will mirror the 981 generation for GT4/Spyder/CS
-GT4 Coupe and Spyder have been approved for production
-Testing a more powerful version (potentially the GT4 RS) with a completely different engine, but not approved for production.
Bingo!

Speedster will be a good investment car, not sure it will offer anywhere near the same driving experience.

Personally, I think if you can get an allocation do it ..........an open top GT3 basically is what the car would be based on what I’ve seen thus far. It’s a pipe dream ADM will be 100k plus or more is my guess and it will go to VIP owners and flipped at crazy prices. Really depends on the weight of the car in how it drive, but if it drives like a GT3 it will be awesome. MSRP, I would do but not holding my breath.

Something about the Speedster's proportions seems to throw it off for me. Could be that weird paint thing too. I want to like it but I think the Spyder is much more prettier!

I think our Spyders are better looking than the Speedster concept; however, the Speedster is really nice, just not as perfect as the Spyder's design. I think the two cars will look good together. I'm asking for an allocation and keeping my fingers crossed.
