458 is one of the more beautiful Fcars to come out from Maranello for a looong time.

I felt sorry for guys who bought the 16M brand new. Their jaws must have dropped when they saw picture of the 458...

Damn! Sounds insane! If I ever make an exception to MT-only rule, this could be the car. Has to be a Spider, of course! Driving an auto box just makes me cringe though! But, love the sound!

‘Porsche Spyder is good for a manual, 458 I only drive in race mode paddle shift you can ride the 9k limit no issues a blast. I would never own a car with more than 500 HP in a manual. Too much risk to ruin a 70k plus engine because of a mis-shift.

That's part of the fun, isn't it, hustling high HP car with MT? Most of these cars don't have the gear gates that close. So, if you are careful, should be able to avoid mis-shifts. Or, have quick reflex to catch it! :-) S2000 is the only car I have experienced with gates that are extremely close. I have had a few mis-shifts over the years; but, managed to catch before letting the clutch fully out. Regardless, 458 Spider always tempts me!

I happen to think this car is perfectly balanced with power and handling along with driver fell ...will go into my power thoughts later. The looks Spyder rear lid sets it apart, and gives the car that mysterious look it’s a differentiator for sure vs other Porsche’s minus GT cars. This is my fourth Porsche in this order 991S, GT3 991 GT3RS 991, and Spyder ........top two of the four the last two and the RS was a beast so it takes for top spot. Actually they’re good as complementary cars I choose to sell at the top of the curve, and always wanted a Ferrari case closed there.

Ferrari, there’s no comparison other than my personal driving the two ......the Ferrari 458 is the best sounding engine I’ve heard and every gear change is amazing with a great rev band to 9k RPM. The Ferrari will always have a timeless look, and the unmistaken sound you can hear from afar. Easy car to drive around town and sounds good in all gears thus the removal of the RS. One thing that sucks in both cars is the reas visibility because of the hunches behind the seats, or whatever you call them but they do look cool. One other convertible parked next to Porsche M4 convertible ....will not waste my time I hate it will be gone in two months will trade it for a Mercedes GLE AMG for the wife.

Now back to the speed part why I feel the Porsche, and Ferrari have enough power. I drove my friends Mclaren 720 S which is over 700 HP’s at the wheels. I have never gone so fast in my life, and it has zero lag and takes off like a rocket with crazy grip. I’m just not sure where all this HP’s stuff will stop, but after driving that fast I’m just convinced I don’t need anymore power. My Ferrari felt like it has Kia power after the 720 S ............so my conclusion is I have two cars that awesome looks and enough power for me to enjoy. The Mac has officially retired me for the craving to want more power .......when you can get 100 plus in 5 seconds in a street car you’re bound to go to jail or kill yourself. Be safe guys, and we’re all lucky to have amazing cars except for my M4(:

I like your combo. If I lived in a driving city with decently mild climate, those two are awesome pair to have in the garage.

You have great taste in cars not that it matters but I'm totally peanut butter and jealous. Thanks for posting; it gives me more to dream about.

I miss my RS sometimes, but I think I have the pair that I really enjoy everytime I drive. Two cars is my limit so I can enjoy them ......well once I sell the M3 I will be down to my two favorite(:

I somehow get lured away towards difficult, impractical masochist cars. But if I ever got "practical" about it, yours are my choice for a great pair of all-around accessible fun cars. I own the spyder right now as my "practical" toy. I was toying with a spider and somehow I came home with a CS instead.

Done with the research ruled out RRS for sure too much inventory and they’re all over the place. The GLE there’s zero for sale in the country time for a new model refresh. Did some home work, and I really like tgr GLE AMG 4.3 for the wife .......but I really like the 6.3 (I needed something to make me want to drive it). Shhhhhhhh. Below is the car I made an offer on will see if they accept, if not plan B is a white one.

I have to say you’ve got the best combo I can think of.

These as just happened to be in my garage last week...unfortunately neither mine (dad’s and brother’s). But was nice to keep me company while GT4 was in the shop.

I had a feeling you'd be going 63. Good choice.
