Personalized license plates (tags).
Between racking my brain whether to sell my car for a PTS build and deciding on a tag for my Spyder, I think I have a perfect one for this car. I like adding a personalized tag that has something to do with the car itself, and came up with quite a few options.
My Spyder is GT Silver, so there's an optional Sports team tag and the only one of ALL the different available categories that has an all Black background (instead of white with all sorts of other colors going on.)
I think the Black tag will look best and most aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Problem is I'm not a big sports fan. Lol
I had a few buddies order the same tags and all they would do is black out the team's name in white; which in this case is, "SOX". As in Chicago White Sox.
side note: I am somewhat of a Cubs fan though
Here's what I've decided on. If you look up the meaning of PURE, there are a lot of reasons I think it would be so fitting on a Spyder.
A close second was going to be "NYN 81"
This tag only allows 5 letters or combination of letters and numbers.
My first choice on a standard Illinois tag would be "NA VI SPD".
Will blackout the SOX text.

No offense intended but I don't like either of them. NYN has no meaning except a cute way to say 9. Not exciting. PURE is ok, I guess, but again not that interesting. But hey, this is coming from a guy who grabs album titles and throws 'em down on a plate. lol

I was debating DINK as a vanity plate...Dual Income No Kids
Do you have data for this somewhere, or are you just assuming based on when the 718's went on sale? I've been trying to find production statistics because I'd like to see how unique my own car is.

Are you a white guy? If so, PURE seems like a terrible idea. Especially PURE combined with WHITE Sox.
Folks these days are quite adept at finding something with which to take offense. Could end poorly for your car.
I wish I were joking.

I could be wrong on that. I'm speaking from the perspective of a Miata guy. There are some of us Miata folks that are obsessing over the 2019 like a lot of us Porsche folks are obsessing over the 982 Spyder. So much so that we know the VIN range and that 10 pre-production prototype 2019 Miatas have been built. Some of those prototypes supposedly hit American soil over the weekend.

Interestingly, I have "PURIST" on my Cayman GTS (as that was the tagline when the car was introduced). I am also in Chicagoland, but have Ohio plates on the car...they allow more flexibility for vanity plates

Race Car
Sales Manager at Porsche of the Main Line outside Philly where I bought the car confirmed what two other dealers had told me - that there were six remaining allocations nationally. POTML did not have a spot, but was able to track the remaining allocations and traded with another dealer.
