981 GTS w/PSE Exhaust Options
Does anyone have experience either with sport headers/midpipe/crossover/actual exhaust replacment on a 981 GTS to enchanted the sound a bit? I absolutely love the current Porsche Sport Exhaust, but never have it in “quiet” mode. I would like to have the “loud” mode be the baseline, and then have the option to toggle to something a bit more aggressive. (I would like to retain the in-cabin PSE switch).
Any accompanying audio/video clips would be appreciated.

Sorry I do not have any experience there, however I do recommend TUBI for maintaining the stock tone on other Caymans and Boxsters, as well as having a wide personality range like the PSE (at least on my car)

Fabspeed race headers and Cobb tune is the EXACT answer you are looking for, full PSE functionality, closed is about like open used to be, open makes GT3 owners jealous, plus you'll get another 30 plus horsepower. Lead time on the headers is a couple months, worth the wait.

Any sound clips by chance?
Also, can the headers be run without a tune? I’m not looking for power as much as sound, and want to retain factory warranty. With just headers with cats, I think I will be ok should something happen. Throw in a tune though, and I could see running into issues.

We have a solution for you. Our Long Tube Street Headers incorporate HJS HD 200 cell catalytic converters which which are durable enough for us to back them for track use - while efficient enough to prevent check engine lights. Backed by a Lifetime Warranty and ready to ship.
Here is a clip of the headers paired with our Valved Exhaust - which is slightly more aggressive than PSE with valves open:
If you have any questions, we're always here to help!

+1 to PSE with race headers, but Soul's option above would be great if you need cats.

Sound clips made today for OP. First, car has been fully warmed up and driven. Camera is a Canon 5D MK III with 24-70L II lens on a tripod. This is the first video I have ever made and don't know for sure how to post it in the forum, but below is two links on my web site of my 2015 BGTS with Fabspeed race headers and Cobb tune. Logically named, the first is with startup and revs with no buttons pressed, second revs is with the sport button pressed which also opens the PSE and gives those glorious crackles. It wails, seems louder in the cabin partly due to the symposer.

If you prefer no crackles, with sport button off, PSE closed first, then sport button still off and PSE open. No pops, same DB level.
