Default 718 steering wheels on 981

Hallo everybody
I have an important question about this possibility. Some nice chinese guys that sell a chip to make operative the multifunction buttons after a steering w swap(718 to 981) told me this.
In particular, I am talking about a 718 st wheel WITH paddles on a 981 s pdk.. does anybody know something?
They told me that, concerning just the paddles and of course the fitting of the wheel, IS POSSIBLE and it will work!
Go and check on Facebook "gpsadapter.us"
thank you

I've seen a few other threads on this, can't remember if it's here on rennlist or planet-9... regardless, several people have successfully ported the 718/Macan steering wheel to a 981, and from what I can remember, the paddles and/or multifunction capabilities all work as well.

Thing is for me, it's prohibitively expensive. From what I remember, the steering wheel alone will run you about $1200 used, unless you can find one for a good value. Then the harness/adapter piece is another couple hundred. Looking at $1500+ for a steering wheel swap... just not that important to me. And I have a Macan so I know how great that wheel is... still nowhere near worth it.

Maybe if you have the non-SportDesign wheel on the 981 with the buttons it would be worth it. MIne's a manual so unless I get a wheel for nearly free, I'll pass.

Do you currently have the wheel with the buttons or the sport wheel with paddles?

Unfortnately i have the buttons and multifunciotn. If I had sport design at least I'd have nothing to change... The wheel I found is with paddles and mf from a 718 pdk, no sport chrono (like my 981). Do you know something about?effectively I saw also many videos on YouTube with a retrofitting of the 718 wheel

Yea I was going to recommend the sport design wheel. I had one installed by the dealer when I bought my CPO Cayman S...couldn't imagine having the stock wheel now;

Veery better look. Yes, but having found a 718' used One I'm searching for informations . The cost (in case of buying new One) is almost the same (718-981). How much did you pay for the whole operation?

I paid the retail price off Suncoast (just over $1k i think) and i had them work any installation cost into the deal for the car.
