Hi all, my new to me '06 Boxster 987 5 speed manual all of a sudden won't shift into reverse. All other gears are fine, no whines or grinds to speak of. Linkage looks okay at the transmission. Took the console off to adjust and all seems okay there but still no reverse. When adjusting the blue ("side to side" motion) cable it seems as though the alignment tool puts the end of the cable a couple of threads too low to fit into the shifter end so I have to force it up a little. Could this be the issue? Should I modify the end of the cable to fit so it'll adjust like it wants?

I should add that when manipulating the linkage assembly at the transmission I can get the car into reverse, but for the life of me cannot get the shifter into reverse the way it is.
