Default Other items to address while upgrading IMS in ‘05 S?

Certified shop here in Omaha replacing IMS at 64K miles. Going for meeting after motor opened up this afternoon. 64K miles on my 2005 Boxster S. Can I get some reds on inspection and upgrades needed besides rear main seal and throw out bearing replacement they are recommending so far? Thanks for your advice!

Check your clutch. It is around the mileage that you should probably replace the clutch pad and spring.

Clutch and rear main seal are the big "while you're in there" items for the IMS surgery, as I recall. You could find that you have an IMS that is serviceable without splitting the case. That was the deal on my '05 Boxster S. 'Twas sweet.

Other items I've poked at are water pump, oil/air separator, filters, all fluids, etc., but I believe your question was specific to the IMS-related surgery. Oh, and the struts for both trunks. If they are weak or old, just flippin' replace them. Life is too short to not have these working as they should. My 2 cents.

Good luck!
