Default 987.2 stiff shifter

I have a 2010 Cayman S with a stock shifter with about 60k miles. My wife has a 2003 Boxster S and her shifter is much easier to operate. The Boxster shifter is really light to the touch after driving my car. I drove a friends 2006 Cayman S with a OEM SSK it also felt lighter/easier to shift even with the SSK. So hows does every ones shifter feel? I have gotten used to the stiffer shifter, but really love the light and easy feel of the Boxster. My wife hates to drive my car due to the shifter.

Opinions, cures Please
Thanks
Chuck

I don't have an earlier car to compare to, but the shifter on my 2010 CS is not at all what I'd call stiff.

Is this a new issue or has it always been like that? Stiff side to side, moving into gears, or everywhere?

It has always been a firm/stiffer shifter, just love the ease of my wife's Boxster shifter. Just looking to find out others opinions.
There is no problem selecting gears, I have been thinking of installing a SSK. Just hate to have it get too firm.
Thanks
Chuck
