987.2 Stiff/Heavy Clutch
Hi all,
First time posting on Rennlist. I owned some interesting air-cooled 911s in the 80's. One had a transplant engine from a 73 2.7RS. Still wonder what happened to that donor car!
So, fast forward to now, we have a 2010 987.2 Boxster S with a 6MT. Love this car. Maybe the last of the analog water-cooled cars, except for that bothersome fly-by-wire throttle.
I'm looking for information/experiences/opinions on a stiff/heavy clutch. Our indie mechanic said its clutch wear and it gets heavier. But, I ran across a post from someone with a 987.2 Cayman that their clutch went out and took the flywheel with it and commented further that apparently they should not have ignored the very stiff clutch.
Thanks!
-Joe

I can't help you on clutch stiffening with wear, but my 2005 Boxster S, with 90K miles when I sold it, was on the original clutch, and the pedal felt easy.

Low mileage 987.2 here and the clutch is very easy to depress. How many miles do you have on the clutch?
