Default Value for 987.2 Carbon "Sport Buckets"

Hey there guys. My base 987.2 came stock with the Carbon "Sport Bucket" optioned seats. Just curious as to what you feel their value would be.

Have contemplated possibly selling them and throwing base manual seats in it to free up some money for other projects.

Thanks!

Depending on the condition, they seem to go for between $5.5 and $8k.

Typically around $7000 plus unless they’re in rough shape.

Are the centers alcantara or leather, that also impacts price.

Awesome. I'd call these in very good condition...like a 8.5/9.0 out of 10. With 10 being new.

They are leather actually.

Leather is slightly less than alcantara but not by much.

Where?? Suncoast has the leather ones for $11k

I paid $9300 with shipping for a nice used set with alcantara cushions.
I have not seen any used ones for less than $8k + shipping in recent months. Maybe I am wrong...

I think the guys saying 5.5 to 7 are trying to get the prices down so they can ****** them up...

I have no intentions of snatching them up since I have a set but my price appears to be low based on your statement. My number is based on what I’m seeing posted for sale here and how much time it takes to sell. I guess at $7 it would be a quick sale but you might be leaving some money on the table.

it is true that nice cond 7gt2 carbon buckets have changed hands on this board in the 7500-9000 range in the past

there have been periods when this was THE hot oem track seat for 987/997 cars, and new supply was non existent, save for suncoast with a few sets for 11 grand

these past couple years the spotlight has shifted to the 918 carbon seats where there is still NO supply for the seats themselves as lear can only make enough for pag's new car production (and i would not be surprised if pag has some contractual stranglehold on lear making more of these for the retail market)

the 997/987 gt2 buckets new supply is more available now (only in leather, no perlon), which is a nice change from the past

Does anyone here recognize the absolute absurdity of talking about paying $8-10K to change the seats in their Porsches? lol We're nucking futz.

Most aftermarket brands don't make bucket seats with side cushion airbags, and any decent bucket seat is going to cost you at least $3k for the pair with mounts etc. Unfortunately in the US if you chose to change to any bucket with no side cushion airbags you are taking liability for injury for yourself and your passenger.

One good side to spending crazy money on these seats is you can end up selling them without much loss down the line
