Default I'm back

I',m back into a Porsche again after a few years in a 2008 M3 DCT. I had a 2006 997 S Cab for 10 years until a crazy woman in a Suburban decided to total it for me. I had the M3 for 3 years and put 30k on it and decide the potential of rod bear issue was to great a risk and it was time anyway for a change. Looked at some 997.2's, M4 and Cayman S and I found a 2014 Cayman S Yellow Stick with full leather and PASM. Loving the Porsche feel again. This car is absolutely telepathic. Thought I would say Hello!

Congrats on the Cayman, she’s a beauty!

That accident looks nasty, glad you came out unscathed.

Thanks. That 997 saved my life. It took a hit at 60 nearly head on and I walk away with out a scratch. Great cars.

Nice, best color! I too went Porsche to M3 to Porsche, albeit 987.1S to E92 M3 to 981S.

Thanks everyone.I have been getting a number of fault codes. Fault engine control Possible to drive on. Also a PSM and an Auto on / off have tripped a fault screen. Is there a way to see the actual code number or do I need to have it scanned? I got the engine control after getting gas for the first time. It has the aluminum gas cap and I don't feel it fits that snug. Could be the cause for that.

OBDII scanner should do the trick. It pinpointed which coil failed on mine at the track (#6).

That sounds like an intermittent coil problem. A code reader will tell you which one. The misfire causes the computer to shut down some of the other systems, such as stop start and PSM.

I roasted one of mine at a track day. Fixed in an hour and never a problem since.

911 vs. Suburban is a losing bet. Glad yours was able to protect you. (I will not even let my Suburban and 991 park next to each other in my garage.)

The diagnosis from the dealer for the fault codes are a misfire from cylinder #6. They are replacing the coil and plug. Also they said the oil filter canister house and oil pan have a leak. Not just the canister but they say it is the housing for the canister. They claim that is a 10 hour job to drop the pan r and r. Seems overboard. Any thoughts
Thanks
David
