Can anyone recommend a competent indie shop near Atlanta for a 981?
Hi,
I have a 986 and a 981. I have had a lot of difficulty finding a shop that specializes in latemodel porsches in my area while trying to have the 986 sorted out. now I need to do some work to the 981. Is there someone in the area that can handle a water cooled car?
Thanks

These are the guys I use: www.goldcrestmotorsports.com. I have only had them do a tech inspection, but they seem pretty legit.

I use GoldCrest a lot but there are other shops I would recommend. I have a 986/996 and a 987. What part of town do you live in?

Hi,
Thanks a lot! I'm not looking to do anything major just coolant and brake flush ,and check the clutch play, but I dont want to pay JE for that kind of work. I live in Virginia Highlands. I have been to FBR and Peter Wendt before, neither were satisfactory experiences. I will check out Goldcrest.

Yeah I was looking for someone to swap out my front lip etc for the GT4 lip and looks like Hennessey doesn't want to do it. I am gonna reach out to Freed cause it's like 2 miles from my place. I think they have another shop next to them with a dyne DB Performance or something and they were a bunch of cool guys as well. Dynoed my Spyder and my brother's ridiculous M6 and it was a great experience. Folks seem super knowledgeable!

I had a set of headers and an x-pipe installed on my 2015 981 CS. It was done by Graham Everett Motorsports (in Braselton?). He is literally located on turn 1 at Rd Atlanta and is a Porsche shop. They did a very clean job and added new insulation to my coil packs.

I second that suggestion. 5 miles from my place. The guys there are friendly and professional and I saw a bunch of cool old air cooled Porsches parked outside. That was definitely reassuring not to mention when I found out some of the clients who show up there to get their babies worked on! They installed the GT4 front lip (yay!) on the Spyder and cleared out a service reminder. And to top it off they think my Spyder has the best color out of all so that was an added bonus!
