Default Shark Werks X-Pipe Feedback...?

Product photos and description can be found here: http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=486

My question is whether this actually changes the sound of the exhaust on a 981... I want to say I read somewhere on Planet 9 or Rennlist that someone who installed only an X-pipe heard a change in sound. Anyone have any experience with JUST an x-pipe? Seems pricey if no change....

thanks

Damn -- no videos anywhere of just the x-pipe. Their stuff is pretty high quality. Just the x-pipe on the early (997) GT3 had an awesome sound from 4500rpm and up. Loved it. Good luck and if you find a clip post -- I'll do the same.

I have one on a 991.1 (just the X Pipe) 3.4, not sure it's the same setup as your cars, but it sounds incredible to me. Raspy and high pitched scream at high RPM's, ferocious, gruff throaty roar at mid range, but very calm and livable on normal drives. No nondescript-bassy drone. A raw sound when you're pushing it.

Probably safe to assume that a similar experience would be had with the installation on a 981CS, especially with sports exhaust. thanks!

These are just tips, probably do not change the sound too much, more for aesthetics probably.

The product does change the directional flow of air at the end of the exhaust, from a "T" type of merge to a "X" style flow.

Yep, got that much, but probably doesn't change the sound too much as it does not affect the mufflers or catalytic converters. I would say the larger tip and smoother flow may change it slightly, but not like an x-pipe for a 997.2 or 991 as it deletes the center muffler.

Totally two different exhaust systems. The Sharkwerks x-pipe for the 991 eliminates the center muffler and will change the exhaust note, though people typically look for more if they do not have the 991 sports exhaust. The 981 does not have the center muffler to delete and this is just an exhaust tip change out with a minimal flow path change and tip enlargement, "just the tip" LOL

Agreed. I am also quite skeptical of their claims to increase power TWO hp. You cannot even reliably measure that small of an increase.
