Good deal on 2014 Boxster S?
Looking at a 2014 Boxster S with 15,000 miles, dealer is asking $55k for. Below are the options. Posting spec sheet to follow

The price is good provided that you want those options. There are nearly $24K worth of options on that car. In my case I like my sports cars to be relatively spartan. So for me it wouldn't be the right car. Keep in mind that the $55K is his asking price. If you like the car, offer the dealer $50K.

Ok, thanks! Yah, I don't mind the options, they make the car look mean with all the black out stuff. Just wasn't sure a good price to ask given how many options there are, hard for Kelly Blue Book to give a good range.

I'm with fast1. The price is okay for such a heavily optioned car. Is it a CPO? If so, I think the price is very good. If not, you should negotiate a lower price.

When I filter their site for CPO cars, it doesn't show up. In the details paragraph they say it has CPO warranty till April 2020. Not sure how that affects asking price.
Are 2014 Boxsters pretty reliable? Thanks for the help, nice being armed with information going into the dealer. |
The CPO warranty gives you 2-yr/100,000-mile protection. It sounds like the car you are considering has the original 4-yr/50K-mile warranty until April this year and the CPO warranty will kick in afterwards. The CPO process costs the dealer >$2,000 so they typically ask about $3K for it. If the $55K asking price includes CPO, I think it is a pretty good deal.

$55k is way too much. Last year I bought my 2013 BS CPO, pdk, for $48k. It had 24k miles on it, but had also been given the 40k maintenance. Plenty of nice creature comforts options as well. I was seeing 2014 boxster S, last year, going for $52k and less. Don’t let the dealer get $$$$ for options. I’d offer him $50k and see what he says. Edit- Yes the 981 is very reliable from what I researched and have experienced. I’ve had mine for over a year now and not one single issue! My Lexus let me down twice it’s first year. -Matt |
Cool, I have issue haggling and/or walking away. It's not a must have car and we can just go across the street and put in an order for a new Audi RS3 and wait for a custom option car
