Default 981 nav/traffic question

I have recently taken over the lease on a 2016 Cayman - did NOT get an owner's manual with it. It has PCM, nav, Sat radio -- but traffic doesn't work - "No traffic information available."

Is there something I need to do, or does this car just not have traffic info available as part of the nav system?

Thanks.

I recently bought a 2013 Boxster S with the PCM & nav system, and traffic information is displayed. It isn't as accurate as Google Maps on my iPhone, but it's generally accurate.

I wonder what I'm not doing, or doing wrong, that my traffic won't display. Is there a checkbox in a display somewhere to display traffic that I haven't found?

My car still has an active satellite radio subscription. Maybe the data comes through that?

It is my understanding that the traffic comes from the Satellite subscription package. Its also the same in my 2015 GTI. I got 5 year traffic, and 3 month radio with the purchase of the car.

And that solved the problem. Went into Sirius XM, realized there was an option for "Navtraffic" that I had not chosen. Clicked on the box - checked the car - and all is good. It works. I just didn't realized I'd overlooked it when I signed up for the Sat radio account.

Thanks to all.
