Default Swap: 981 PDK swapped into a 987.2 chassis??

Curious if anyone has insights on the feasibility of swapping a PDK from a 981 into a 987.2 chassis. As the engines are derived from the same block, I assume it would likely 'bolt-up' easy enough, but I would assume there is more to is than that, of course.

Cheers,
DJM

PDK was the option gearbox for all years of the 987.2, so why a 981 PDK?

My 2012 Cayman R is equipped with PDK. Now that it is 6 years old an out of warranty I do worry at times about the PDK going south -- at roughly $20k for a new unit from Porsche, I'd want to have other options available. On the dismantler market, it is far more common to find a used PDK from a 981, vs a 987.2; it would be helpful to know if there is the possibility of using other PDKs than just the 987.2 units.

Cheers,
DJM
