PSE with catless headers

My understanding is California visual inspection is 50/50 however, your best bet it usually to go through a more performance-friendly shop. Installation is a breeze (usually 2 hours) - if you want to aide on the safe side, I have quite a few customers that will swap out the OEM manifolds every two years when it comes time for inspection. A small price to pay for awesome power and sound
I haven't done it but I'm sure swapping headers is easier on a 981 than a front-engined car. We shall see.

I have the Soul Performance headers with 200 cell cats on my 2015 981 CS. I have had zero CEL and it passed the emissions test with flying colors. I have standard exhaust, but I keep wishing for just a little more music and I'll probably get PSE installed by my dealer. The first thing I personally noticed with the headers is how the car seems to rev much more freely. My biggest fear is the Porsche warranty which is good on my until Jan, 2021. I'd hate to need it and find out it has been voided.

Once the car is in the air, the headers are practically staring you in the face. 2 hour job max.

Yeah I've been under the car for oil changes and bleeding the clutch slave cylinder, just didn't focus on the headers.

The hard part is the space, unless you have a lift. Doing headers from stock to Fabspeed race on my back with no room was not an easy task, especially the few bolts that require a tiny socket and multiple swivels and extensions to reach. It would be easy with the right tools and a lift, though.

I have Fabspeed race headers, PSE, GT3 throttle body, IPD plenum and an EVOMS tune on my spyder. Thankfully there is no emissions testing in my state & I've only thrown one lambda code (following winter storage last year) which is easily rectified with the Durametric.
The sound is aggressive but very tolerable with the flaps closed but when you press the PSE button to open them up the sound becomes louder and much more sinister both on and off throttle.
These modifications are well worth the expense and raise the overall experience of driving the car significantly.

To me that does not look like enough room. Also, once you remove the original headers, you are also removing some heat shielding. I bought some shielding for my coil packs. I had mine installed by a Porsche guy at Rd Atlanta. This is the shielding I bought. You'll have a lot left over:

That's more room than I had on jack stands!

Wow, I can see why that was hard for you. Putting it up on ramps like that is pretty comfortable for me but I'm only accessing the oil pan and filter.
