Bummer. You’re right wishful thinking it was one piece.

From the GT4 forum... photos from South Africa.
notice it has the newer GT4 wheels (more angular spikes and bolt relocation). More evidence it will be a GT car?

I just want someone to crawl under it and confirm the engine.

I'm a bit out of the loop though; maybe it's already known.

Its going to be electric.... LOL

or have a big wind up key on the rear deck...

Today, the news broke that an electric 911 or hybrid is in the plans. That would be good because the engine is in the wrong place in the 911.

I'm betting a lot of folks here would prefer either to another turbo four.

What about that rear spoiler? Geez, that thing looks massive. Very inconsistent with the flow of the rear deck lid.

Well a fair amount of people have been begging for the full GT4 kit on the Spyder, so along with the front spoiler and rear diffuser , I guess they needed a bigger rear spoiler to balance it all out. At least it's not a fixed wing...

Larger spoiler creates more downforce and facilitates ironing.

Honestly, when I compare it to my 981, it doesn't look that much bigger, but it without integration into the tail lights it just looks massive and slapped on. The whole rear of this car just looks like someone added a bad body kit to a 718S.

Add to that, the breaking news, to be formally announced at the Roar before... 3.8 with more power,

Lets see, mine pulled 394 hp stock (343 at the wheels), then I added a cobb tune, race headers and I bet we are close to 420 now.

So they can say, We bumped the power up to 400 (from 375) without changing a darn thing....

They will debut the GT4 Clubsport at Roar (January 3rd)... doubt they will be launching the Street GT4 and Spyder at that time. It will however reveal a ton of details for the street versions (Finally ending the Engine debate and finally uncovering that rear diffuser and front bumper!!!). So good news indeed. The GT4 and Spyder should make it's online debut February, with a Geneva public debut in March. Let's just hope they debut them at the same time! (Versus the previous two generations: The 987.2 Spyder launched before the Cayman R and got more love... and the 981 GT4 launched with the 997.1 GT3 RS before the Spyder and got more love.)

So if a 3.8 Liter motor as I ma inclined to believe now - ima save my monies. I did a dyno run as well on a Mustang dyno as it was called. Whatever end of the day my car produced - bone stock - 345 at the wheel and 297 lb ft torque. Doesn't look like it's worth an upgrade to me. Even with a tune and different headers with high flow cats maybe I can squeeze out 25 - 30 horsepower. Now throw in a particulate filter that's needed for new emissions that's an extra 20 kilos of weight if memory serves me right. I see no reason to ditch my car for a new Spyder.

Thought I read that the particulate filter will not make its way on to U.S. cars, just Euro and China cars only. Maybe someone can confirm.
