Just caught something on a FB thread - the 982 Spyder to be released at the New York International Auto Show. This is coming up in the first week of April. Or would it be 2019...

Any validity to this?

I can see a boost gauge in the lower left corner of the instrument cluster.

Also I really hope the front fascia of the Spyder has a bit more 'complications' added to it because it just doesn't look that special otherwise. I like the front gap that the current 981 Spyder and GT4 have. Perhaps its just all being hidden cause that's just a test mule.

It also says PCCB as standard and a NA “under 400” HP 4.0. I doubt both of those statements. At least, if true, my interest will diminish, as I would want steel brakes even without considering the impact on MSRP.

Agreed.

Truth be told I'm kinda hoping it comes with a turbo four and PCCB. That would keep me from buying even if I had the opportunity.

Wait, where’s that. I cannot make anything out in that size.

You have to look real close. It's right next to the "Powered by VW4" logo.

You had me for a second... just the Speedo.

I wouldn't take any of the content of the article too serious though... PCCB's standard??? Funny... especially since only one test car has been seen with PCCB's and all others (including the one in their article) have been steel.

Also date might be deliveries vs. launch... again all info is speculation. Nice to see new pics though.
