Default Silver 987.2 Spyder on BAT

Saw this early pop up in the email this morning... https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ign=2018-01-23

Curious comments: "The 35k-mile service was completed in April 2017 by Porsche of Huntsville at a cost of almost $1,900 and also included rebuilding the driver-side rear axle. A Rennline rear subframe stabilizer bar was previously installed."

Such a pretty car. Perfect for someone with bad knees that wants a PDK and all the driving fun you can handle.

I have to ask. Why the short life for the '17 Macan GTS?

Oh boy There's a question. Let me answer by saying the Macan is an excellent SUV. And there in lay the problem. I fell in love with Porsche with my 06 C2S, with the flat 6 banging away right behind my head and the howl at 6500 rpms raising the hair on my arms. The Macan? They just didn't do it for me. The steering felt dead and in the GTS, my attempt for more sports car "cow bell" (see Saturday Night Live YouTube video for reference), it just didn't perform nor sound right. So I bailed out, kept the 98 C2S, sold the Spyder for a brief fling with a Cayman and then back again into a Spyder. And that is where I sit... ahhhh....

And here I was, ready to buy a GTS this weekend as a daily driver since my GT3 is now modified well past what I consider to be usable on a daily basis. You may get a text from me in the next couple of days :/

Please. Give me a shout. I also found it to be quite BIG as a DD here in the City. So I drive my inline-5 Golf with Sottozeros and a MT as my DD. It's awesome for booting around the city and not so awesome that it doesn't feel GREAT to drop into one of the Porsches. I see that one of the dealership reps with a GT4 just picked up a Golf R for his DD. They're great cars, with their own evolutionary line like Porsche. One of board members just picked up an eGolf while he waits for his new incoming GT3.

So go and drive the Macan GTS and let me know what you think. I don't mean to diss it as it is a GREAT SUV but that's exactly what it is - an SUV. Your GT3 will definitely feel VERY different when you get back into it. And try and find a Golf R to drive.

Sold today on BaT for $52K + 5% buyers premium = $54.6K.

That's a strong price for a 36k mile, PDK Spyder with a sketchy history.

wow. $54,000 for a 36k mile car that stickered for mid 70k. Speaks volumes about the brand and the model.

Yep. That's exactly what I paid for mine with 38750 miles on it. Still the best bang for your buck and IMO (flame me if you feel you need to) 90%+ of a 997.2 GT3.

You need to drive a 997.2 GT3 me thinks

Still the Spyder is a awesome car - just think things a tad wacky when a press car that then was a CA DE car goes and sells for this

Had a 997.2 GT3. Current car is a GT4. Your 90% is a bit optimistic.
