2016 Cayman, Black Edition. PCM version 4.76. Can anyone please tell me what putting a SIM card into my PCM will do other than let me make calls using the PCM phone or maybe creating a hot spot in the car. I've read several articles and the manual, but cannot understand if using a SIM card allows any other functionality. Anyone that's using a SIM in a 2016 PCM, please let me know what it allows you to do. I would never use the PCM phone anyway, and my iPhone X with Bluetooth in the car, allows me to take/make calls and stream audio. Just don't want to be overlooking something the SIM allows that I'm not aware of. Thanks all.

I think the slot on my 2019 991.2 is for a data card for Porsche Connect apps to work when not on a hotspot.
