Default 981/718 Side intake/grille

Hi, checking to see if anyone on here had checked if the the side intakes from the 718 would fit onto the 981? I know on the 981 the black outside piece pulls right out and clips back in very easily. It LOOKS like a substantially larger piece on the 718 but that could be misleading. I know the interior "ductwork" is different but I am only interested in the outside piece. Was hoping this would be an easy one to answer - a photo of the piece out and the panel itself with the piece out would be ideal. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I'd actually quite like to know too. Only "resource" I could find was this thread on planet 9 that went nowhere.

Hey guys, I'm interested too. Love the 718 design/styling improvement. If I see a 718 out there, I'll compare it and take a guess and let you know.

Hey guys, just received the 718 side air vents and confirmed they will not fit the 981. Bummer. If anyone wants to buy them, I'll give a good deal.

I was wondering about this. I recently got a (new to me) 981, but I kind of liked the look of the 718 side grills. Kind of surprising that they actually changed the shape.

I could have sworn I saw a video of someone making this swap recently and it worked. Maybe I'm confusing the GT4 scoops.

All of the changes to air intake differences between the 981 and the 982 are attributed to the significantly different cooling and air intake needs of the turbo 4 per the press release. Doesn't appear any was done for aesthetics.
