987.2 Emergency Frunk Release Cable

I Was detailing my Cayman R and I noticed a wire cable loop in between the upper part of the drivers side door and the body. Could this be an emergency frunk release cable. Seems kind of flimsy, I was afraid to pull in case I really need it someday......

Sounds like the manual release for the fuel filler door, but it should be on the passenger side. Strange.

Oops, it is on the passenger....So I think the filler door sounds right. Thanks for solving the mystery
