Default Paint-to-sample for 2018 911 4 GTS cabriolet

Hi! I am a Renn List Rookie so bear with me. I have ordered a 2018 911 4 GTS cabriolet and I want to do a paint-to-sample colour. I would like to see photos of cars painted in these jewel tones:

Ipanema Blue Metallic 3S2
Ocean Jade Metallic 25K
Viola Purple Metallic W85

Can you please help? Thanks so much!

Welcome, Patti, and big congrats on the GTS! A couple of things to note:

First, this is the forum for Boxster and Cayman owners. There are separate forums on RL for 911 cars and your post may find better traction in a 911 forum, although the question you pose relates to color, which is not model-specific and thus something we here can help you with.

Second, I'm assuming you are working with a sales associate and you have been told that paint-to-sample (PTS) is available on your car given the timing of your order. PTS can be a confusing and elusive ordering process and the windows of availability have been known to open and close with short duration and little notice. We'll operate under the assumption that PTS is indeed available on your car, but if you're not 100% sure you will want to contact your sales associate and confirm one way or another.

Third, regarding photos of Porsches in each of the three colors you mention, I would suggest as a first step simply googling "Porsche Ocean Jade," for instance. When you do so, this pops up:

The quality of the photos will vary drastically depending on lighting and the photographer's skill, but at least it will give you some ideas of what the color looks like on a 911.

One last note: Different colors are available via PTS at different times. You want to check with your sales associate to make sure each of the three colors you are considering are current offerings on Porsche's current list of PTS colors.

Hope this is helpful and good luck!

Thank you both for your replies. I have indeed been Google Image-ing the colours but there is such variance that it's very difficult to determine which colour is true and which has been "enhanced." I was hoping that Renn List-ers could send their actual photos. I have now posted to the General Forum and will try to find the 911 forums. Thanks again! Signed, Confused in Canada

^^^^ Understood (and very true).

Do check back here because there is a frequent poster on this forum, MileHigh, who has a beautiful Spyder in Impanema Blue and I suspect if he sees your post he may be able to help you, at least with respect to this particular color.

By the spelling of colour, I assume you're not in the US? If so, either plan a trip to one of the Porsche Experience Centers (Atlanta and LA) to look at the "wailing wall" of PTS color samples. Or ask your SA to borrow the appropriate frogs for a few days from one of the centers. There's nothing like seeing the color in real life and in different lighting.
And yes, you should be hanging out in the 991 forum for your model (though the PTS process is as arcane for any model, so it seems). Plan on at least 3 months additional delay if your request is approved.
Hi Eduardo. I'm getting bored, which has my wife horrified...

The entire city of Atlanta was an "experience center" today

Oh, I’ll bet. Hahaha.
The Targa is in a mild slumber with tires at 50 PSI on carpeting and a CTech 3300 waiting for the next nice day. My DD S550 has Sottozero run flats for the season.

I plead guilty to enjoying the process. If the new Spyder is really a detuned GT3 6, I may be tempted. Not sure I could endure another PTS wait, but I like greens.
BTW, what ever happened to Bamboo Green Metallic?

Unless your monitor or device has been profiled, don't rely too much on what you see online. Even then, it's rare when a photographer uses a tool to achieve an accurate white balance and the ones who do add saturation and contrast.

Of your choices and after looking at MileHigh's beauty, Ipanema wins. Hoping for voodoo blue PTS on my next order.
