Value my 981 Spyder.
Hey all,
I have a 2016 Spyder that I bought new. (Great car!!!) Infotainment/Bose, carbon fiber, illuminated sills, 18-way adaptive seats, heated seats, etc. White/Black with factory satin black wheels. MSRP was right at $100K I think. 5500 miles. Maintenance done. Clear front bra, lightly tinted windows. General idea what they are selling for lately? Not many comps available.

Assuming it's one owner California car with no stories and no overrevs, for that combination I'd say $92.5 to $97.5k, though I'd wait until Spring to sell it.

Most cars at dealers look to be at or above MSRP, but all are also CPO. So, plus at least $3k for that and most are fairly low miles.
Does the car have a reversing camera? I'm not sure how easy it is to add if not, but I wouldn't want to try backing up without one (with the top up).
But that's me. I've become reliant on them as all of our vehicles have them.

I'm in Huntington Beach and would be interested in buying that car if you were thinking in that direction.

There was not a large number of these cars released in the US.
The 718's are nice cars, although sound neutered, & the look with light strip along back, isn't for everyone.
I'd hold onto it, or atleast til' spring, & would ask MSRP, if the car is near perfect.

I agree on the look from the rear of the 718s, but if the car gets a detuned GT3 NA engine, I'll be interested in a new one. I doubt they'll stick a turbo 4 in a Spyder, but if they do I would expect the value of the 981 Spyder to head north quickly. and I would regret passing on the new one I could have had even more. That damn top.

Wait until it's known for certain whether the next Spyder has a four-banger. If it does, your car will be worth more than it is today.

Value is relative to what it means to the next person .......enjoy your cars now is the real value. (:

I noticed a Targa in your Avatar, is it yours? I say this because I personally find the Targa top to require much more effort to stow in the trunk than the Spyder's top and the heft of the Targa top requires you to pay even more attention when removing/installing it. After installing the Spyder top a couple of times you'll get the hang of it and find it's relatively easy, don't let it be a deterrent.
I believe you are correct that it’s managable and I have been thinking of going back to a base 911 coupe plus a Spyder at some point, which is why I have been following both the 987/981 Spyder markets and waiting to see what engine the 718 will get. That unremovable PORSCHE on the back is a step backward in design IMO however. But picking your own color, options, etc may mitigate the design somewhat.
