Would trade your 981 Spyder for 718 Spyder?

Well what he said is also correct. If you turn on the sport button it turns on the exhaust button automatically. And the reverse when you turn it off. How do you not know this?!

Happy with what I have- would probably not be lucky enough to score another PTS allocation anyway... I'll keep this one for a while, maybe as long as my '71 914............

Yes, and if you turn off the sport button, you lose some throttle response. His comment was accurate, my comment was accurate. What about that do you not understand?

I am indeed confused. I think I hadn't realised you were punishing him for not giving you the correct advice. The correct advice of course is to use the exhaust button not the sport button to turn off the farts but not soften the throttle response (which is what I said). But you did know that already right?

I am jealous of you even though I have a 981 Spyder in the garage. The original was special, truly. Glad you're cherishing it I'm still bitter I had so many deals for one fall through.

I drove mine too "Bimini style" and it even rained while at lunch. Nice to just roll up windows and everything stays dry without back panel in. Regarding upgrading/trading our spyders, us 987.2 Spyder owners went thru this when the 981 Spyder was announced/speculated.

Does the rumour mill have the top on the new Spyder like the one on my 981, or are they going back to the "assembly" top of the 987? I actually wish my 981 had the 987 top so I could take the back panel out.

Assuming the the initial spy shots are accurate the new Spyder will have the same top as the 981.

I'm always learning something new on this Forum. Thanks for clearing this up. I like the noise myself but good to know it can be turned off with out losing improved throttle response.

Okay, Seriously back to the OP. If the new Spyder is seriously different as in Removable Top, Adjustable Suspension, Bigger NA Engine, and hopefully A/C Radio Delete ? then perhaps I could see trading in one of my two 981 Spyders, but it really depends on the Specs.
I'm between a GT3 Touring and a Spyder, and the Spyder as described in the UK Blog has a edge IMHO.

I would love to talk to someone at Porsche and ask them why they left the gt3, RS. 918 Spyder Just ti name a few off top of my head without artificial farting noises, but thought that lower priced models like 981 series needed them?

Turning off exhaust or the sport button doesn €™t turn off the farts, it merely mutes them somewhat. If you listen carefully you can tell that the same exact almost mechanical sequence of farts and crackles still happens even with exhaust closed. I spoke to as many people as I could to see if there was a fix for this artificial sound, but it comes from gasoline being dumped into exhaust from ecu.. it €™s fake as hell and ruins a great driving experience.
