Default Looking at this low mileage 2013 Boxster today - thoughts?

2013 Boxster with 13,200 miles. Claim is CPO with 2 year warranty. Carfax shows no service history (??). Miles insanely low. Very pricey. Ideal colors. Nice options. Tips on what to look for appreciated. Would be my first Porsche. RJ

Nice car. The selling Porsche dealer would have all service history. I think $42K for a '13 base Boxster is not a great price. Very nice colors (exterior blue is beautiful), and yes low miles. But, I wouldn't spend that for a '13 that's not even an S. There are cars out there, but IMO you can do better.

Seems a little pricey to me also but you can always make an offer. Not a fan of those thumb shifters but some people like them.

Agreed on the thumb shifters. When we rented cars in Germany this summer my son had an older ('14 I think) Cayman GTS with the thumb shifters while I had a '17 Boxster S with the paddle shifters. Paddles were far and away both our favorites.

The car was very nice, but I think you guys are right that it is a little too much money. They will probably take less. RJ

That's hardly ever the case. For starters, many don't use dealerships for service (like me). Furthermore, at least my closest (non-selling) dealer told me only the service performed there would be available to me. Not sure that's the case, but just pass it on. By the way, I always do all the maintenance on my vehicles. Finally, I never buy used cars, but even though I always keep complete documentation of my maintenance/services, I've NEVER been asked for it when trading in. I always offer my file with the maintenance history, but never turn documentation, since it has my contact info. And who knows if future owner gets it or not; no dealer had seemed to care, to be honest. But when I sell privately, I give everything to the buyer, plus I'm always available to answer any questions. That's the bad side of buying used. The only way to get service history is if owner did everything at the same dealership that is selling the vehicle. ANd many times they just tell you what it was, but don't give you copies, since it has the previous owner personal info. Unless they go thru the trouble of blacking that out, but again, never had that 'issue'. With a car 4 years old at least, I'd like to know the entire service history, even though there're not that many miles. Car should have at least 2 brake fluid flushes already. And in theory, 4 oil changes. And if price is high (I don't really know), then look for a better documented car, since you'll be out of warranty. You want to know any issues the car had. Could had been traded because of that; you never know. And would regret to buy it big time. Good luck.

Nice car but that price is crazy for a car that lightly optioned. That's a $35,000 car.

Why can't you offer a more realistic price for the car? I would of grabbed it. Offer $39k

Nice options and a very nice color

Yea really nice color combo, if you like it start less 10% and go from there, plus this looks like its CPO? correct? Thats worth at least 2K IMO. Don't worry about miles, I have found a bunch of ppl buy these new and sit on them, only drive 1-2 times a month, just look at the classified ads here.

Yes, CPO with about 18 months of warranty left.

I recently shopped for a 981 S and saw a good number of cars in person and online. There is no way you can buy a CPO '13 Base with such a low mileage for $35,000 as some suggested. I think you may be able to talk down $1,000 - 1,500 from the list price but not much more IMO.

Just about the first thing I did after buying my '12 Spyder was to replace the stock thumb-shifter wheel with a proper paddle shifter. Easy job, $1k and about 15 minutes is all it takes...

Cannot stand the thumb shifters - in the week I drove with them it drove me nuts.

KBB says $38k private party in excellent condition so maybe $43k from a dealer with CPO isn't that outrageous.
