987 Exhaust
For a little background, the water pump on my 987 Boxster (non S) when the pulley sheared off. That was fun while in traffic on the interstate. I've got the car at a friend's garage on his lift so he can replace it. The pump arrived today and the thermostat should arrive tomorrow.
While looking at everything else under the car, he noticed the clamps that join the exhaust system to the tail pipe have cracked. One is completely broken and the other is cracked, but still in one piece. Can these be easily replaced without removing the entire exhaust system? It's the clamps at the yellow arrows on the attached. I'm also not having any luck finding those clamps online. Nothing I'm finding is that wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any chance you could have them welded?
Note I am not familiar with the clamps or pretty much anything else under the Cayman. Speaking solely on issues I've had in the past with other vehicles.

Possibly, but I'd have to find someone to do that. I was just talking to the people at Pelican Parts. Those clamps are special order at $50 each. Don't know if I could find someone to weld them for something close to that.

I know you are only after a repair job, but having just fitted a cat-back system to my 2005 Boxster S, I can tell you it's worth every cent! The car's personality has been transformed from a *****-cat into a tiger!

The T-pipe can be removed by loosening up the bolts that hold the mufflers.
I have a tail pipe that you need (with clamps intact). It's from my 2010 Cayman Base. I am 99% sure the pipe is exactly the same as yours. I can sell it to you cheap. PM me if interested ...

I just crawled under my '06 Cayman S to look at the parts, which appear to be identical to the photo. The two clamps in question on my car have a very small spot weld on the edge of each. This would be very easy to grind off, but you may want to check on your car. This might indicate why the clamps are special order items rather than inventory items. If you remove them, a muffler shop should have a compatible clamp since this is not a heavy part. I would consider a used unit as suggested.

I feel I should also disconnect the clamps in the connecting tube above the "T", or am I wrong?
Thank.
