That one looks good with those painted wheels.

I'm very curious to see the direction Porsche goes with the 982 Spyder top, if and when it arrives. I personally do not think 981 has offered up any forward improvement, and in actuality more a backwards move over the 987.2 top. In my experience it's more complicated and suffers electronic errors. At Parade I asked Grant Larson of the original Boxster design team as to the plans for the next generation of Spyder roof. Could they make it like the 918 Targa roof that simply un-clips and stores in the frunk or trunk? And, alas, he commented on the lack of storage space for such a design.
I would like to see a top go in the design direction of more simplicity, more unique to the model.
We wait and see which is half the fun of the Porsche experience.

The top on the 987.2 is not that difficult to put up or take down. It is intimidating at first but done a couple times it's not difficult at all and takes about 2 min. Doing it under pressure before a rain storm may change things. Things always are more difficult when you are in a rush and "have to".
There is an old school charm to the 987s simplicity and its basic nature that I don't think we will see again from PAG and people will want in the future. People always want what they can't get.
Took the Spyder out last night and put the top up leaving the rear window out. What a great feature.
Its not always about power. The 987 Spyder has the perfect balance between power and chassis. The original 550 was the same. There is a vid on YouTube with Jethro Bovington where a 987 Spyder throws down a quicker lap than an R8 Spyder.
The 987 Spyder is a keeper if you can get one. Even now they are hard to find especially with mt.

Discussion about the Spyder's light weight top, reminds me of a conversation I overheard while waiting to have my Porsche serviced. A guy at the parts department counter was interested in ordering a 11 lb battery which would trim at least 20 lbs from his Porsche. His Porsche was less than a year old, so it was obvious that it was the loss of weight which was triggering him to spend $450 for the battery. The thing that made me chuckle was the guy placing the order. I'd estimate that he was about 5' 6" tall and weighed way, way over 200 lbs. I'd guess that the guy could lose 50 lbs and still be over the recommended weight for his height. OTOH I guess getting the lighter battery was a lot quicker and less stressful way of losing 20 lbs.

Funny you mention that, the Spyder encouraged me to get back in shape. If I'm expecting the car to shed some weight then I had better be doing the same. So ultimately my car has lost about 66 Lbs since I bought it, about 22 lbs are my own weight loss. Soon I won't have much more weight to lose and I'll have to go back to finding other weight savings parts for the car.

C'mon, don't leave us hanging!
My guess is it's a drop top. I know you miss the topless experience.
Whatever it is, BIG CONGRATS!!

Hey Nick! YES! New RIDE on it's way in. I have not seen it in person yet but the PPI from a Porsche Dealer looks great. New set of PS4's and a wheel alignment on board. Can't get enough of the design line of the side window top edge as it rakes back to the power domes. It's a bit of a unicorn so I "had" to do it. So looking forward to some open air driving. I even had a dream about it! The perfect stable mate for the 993. Check these out from the previous owner...

Congrats Joel!!! The wait must be painful, especially with winter approaching.
Can't wait to see more pics once you have it in your hands.

We definitely see eye-to-eye on the color combo
I sense your automotive attention span is shorter than most, but I'm guessing this one might be in the stable for a very long time.
Very savvy pick up. Really happy for you!
