Default 981 Spyder - Western States Road Trip - Less than 93 oct fuel ?

So here are the facts: planning the 4500 mile 2 week road trip...

981 Spyder
Cobb Stage 2
Fabspeed Race Headers

I hear sometimes its hard to find 93 octane fuel between Rapid City - Yellowstone - Salt Lake - Moab - Mesa Verde - Denver

Worry?

Change Something?

What to do?

Nothing to worry about. I've always ran 91 in my cars, including Cobb stage 2 on my TTS.

That being said, try to find 93 if you're on the 93 tune -- otherwise stay off the fast pedal. Also, worst case you could always switch to the Cobb stage 2 tune for 91.

Also, I'd recommend asking Mitch (or someone) @ Cobb to be 100% certain.

Sadly, all we have here is 91.
Never an issue as the car adapts.
If Cobb can get you a 91 octane tune, it may help.

Don't recall ever seeing 93 around here, 91 is the norm. We did a trip from here to Yellowstone in the spring and definitely did not see 93 along the way.

find93.com only show a few outlets in the area your talking about, so will be lean pickings (no pun intended). Unless your willing to travel with some 101 to blend in, expect the ECU to be compensating...

Count this west coast Cayman S owner in that camp as well. Regular trips to my local 101 race gas suppliers to blend with the 92/91 you get at the pump.

Live in SLC. 91 is all we have without going WAY out of the way to get it (except when I go to the track and can get better variety). The ECU adapts and she runs just fine. You might lose a few horsepower, but you'll likely be losing more to elevation than octane.

I have never seen 93, and have only used 91 in my cars included GT3's no issues.
