Certainly a great sign that ingress and egress isn't a problem and a few minutes in the saddle felt comfortable.

I was surprised how great I felt in these seats after extended periods. As others have noted, they impose good posture, if that makes sense, and it's like my back actually thanks me for not slouching. Admittedly, we're all different and what feels good for my back might feel horrible for someone else's.

It has to feel great to finally take possession. Congrats!

It'll feel great when the title actually shows up and I get the thing registered in California. Waiting on a duplicate title, then all the California nonsense to get it registered. Probably won't get to really drive it for a couple of weeks.

Ughh

Your homework assignment in the interim is to:

  • Re-read all the manuals cover-to- cover.
  • Find that rear license plate frame you want to go with.
  • Get an indoor cover if the car didn't come with one.
  • Start gathering your preferred cleaning supplies so you're ready to go.
  • Get a battery tender if needed.
  • Do the clear side marker swap if preferred.
  • Apply to the DMV for that personalized plate.
  • Set up your 3-ring service binder with mylar page covers.
  • Send off for a COA if the car didn't come with one.
  • Register your car with the Boxster Registry, if so inclined. Worth it for the cool window decal alone, IMO.
  • Laminate your window sticker if that's your thing.
  • Get Agate touch up paint from the dealer.
  • Get a sunshade.
  • Maybe a front and/or rear trunk liner?
  • Consider checking to see if an alignment is necessary due to X73 "settling."
  • Hunt down the ever important preferred key chain/fob,
  • . . . and the equally important logo valve stem caps.

Just a few suggestions to keep you occupied.

Hang in there!

Oh I've got all the stuff I need and I read the manuals the last time I owned this car. Clear markers came yesterday, that'll be the only mod this car ever sees. Not much for personalized plates or COAs, etc. Just want to drive the damn thing. This is going to be a driver. There will be blood (marks) on my bumpers.

Ditto. Mine will remain bone-stock.

I modded the 986, it had headers, a dansk exhaust, underpulley, 911 front bumper cover, litronic headlight swap, momo shifter and leather boot and black chromed fins in the side intakes. I enjoyed modding it and the improvements were noticeable. However, the spider is staying bone stock, I feel like it's correct just like it came from Germany.

What a great read this thread was! Currently considering one of these Spyder's myself; only after finding out how special they are by seeing and reading a few comments on this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...o-1-owner.html

Had a 991.1 GT3 with LWB's. Definitely a gorgeous and comfortable seat. However ingress / egress was always a bit challenging in the sense of not wanting to wear on the bolsters. I would love one spec'd with PCCB's as well, but those seem ultra rare.

No way to tell if that's gonna bother me until I drive one for a while, which is not an option for me on this car.
Any verdict yet on the LWBs? Is the jury still out?

Hope they're feeling great.

Yes, they're definitely keepers and I would spec them on a new car for sure. They are actually laughingly difficult to get in and out of, but once in them they are fantastic.
