Default Evaluation of cars for sale

I'm looking for a used Cayman and thought I'd throw out a few cars that I've considered and ask for some opinions on evaluating price vs miles and options. I'm looking at 987.2 Base cars and would prefer a stick, but have read enough about the PDK that I think it would be an acceptable option: not as fun driving around town, better on the track. This car will be a weekend fun car. I will probably do a couple DE's a year, but doubt I'll get into it full bore. I'll have a little over $40,000 from selling another car, but I'd like to put some $ in my pocket for future expenses, etc.

1st Car: Almost seems too nice to take to the track, but I love the options list.
Meteor Grey 2010 Base 6 speed 23,000 miles
Second owner (bought it with 2700 miles years ago)
Bi-Xenon Headlights
Blue tooth
Auto climate control
PCM 3.0 w/ extended nav
Bose
18" wheels
Power Seats
Heated Seats
Self dim mirrors and rain sensor
XM
LSD
Sport Shifter
PASM
2 tone Black/Stone Grey Interior
Asking $34,950

Car 2:Higher miles, rare color, much less $, claims extremely clean and Porsche maintained, but pics aren't as high quality as no. 1.
Aqua Blue Metallic 2009 Base 6 speed 47,500 miles
Stone Grey leather interior
Heated seats
Sound pkg plus
bluetooth
XM
Multimedia interface
Asking $22,500

Car 3:Higher miles again, lower price, mid options:
2010 Black/black Base 6 speed 45,100 miles
Bi-Xenon
Self dim mirrors and rain sensor
PCM 3.0 - Extented Nav
Claims full leather, but pics don't show stitching on either side of center which I thought was the tell.
XM
18 wheels
Blue Tooth
Heated seats
K40 RL360 radar detector
LoJack
asking $27,500

Just trying to stir the mental juices and consider things I might not have thought of yet. TIA

Default Sold my other car

So, made a call to Car 1 to talk details. He's owned it since 2011 but only has records for oil and filter changes and 1 cabin air filter. He basically hasn't been doing the maintenance. Hmm, no brake fluid changes since new? Engine air filter and spark plugs are original too I guess. How big a problem is this. Suggestions on how to deal with this? Maybe do a ppi and then tell him I'll pay his number (he knocked $1500 off) if he pays for the major service?

Oh and there is a small ding in the front of the bumper (really a scrape the size of a quarter) that he has an estimate to have fixed for $600 5 years ago (damaged in shipping) but he didn't want to paint the bumper cover. Other than that the car is immaculate.

On a 23K car, none of that would really worry me. Ask him to do the 20K service at a dealership, and call it a deal.

Because I'm biased to the best Porsche color (Aqua Blue) I vote for car #2. Seeing a 987 in Aqua Blue is what made me get my 981 in that color with the Platinum Gray interior and it is stunning! Its a very unique color for a Porsche! I say go for it!

I was hesitant on the ABM car because in the pics posted by the seller it looked fairly light. I've seen other pics on line that appeared to be a deeper blue. How does it compare to BMW Estoril Blue? Bad news is that car has a few flaws that a conversation uncovered and he claims to have buyer coming this weekend, so off the market till Monday.

I dunno, Car 1 is asking a premium price for a below-average service history.

Default Made a deal on Car 1

It just had too many great options, PASM, LSD and 2-Tone interior to mention a few, to pass up. I may have overpaid slightly, but I don't think there was a better Cayman Base on the market right now.

I love it!!

I really don't think you overpaid. I paid almost that much for a 45K car with similar options just a couple of months ago. I have no regrets.

My feelings were the same. I had looked at about 10 cars in the last year, and 3 at the time I made a decision. To me, the one I bought was definitely the best that was available.
