Default Spyder brakes - rotors and pads?

My pads need replacing. Has anyone out there replaced their 981 Spyder brake rotors and pads with anything other than OEM?

I was thinking of the Girodiscs for the rotors - but not sure which ones would fit. Expect it would be the 991 S replacements?

How about pads - if contemplating a little track time would the Pagid yellow be the way to go or just make too much noise for everyday use?

Did they use the 991 S brakes on the front and rear, or just front?

Just the front. Rears are base 911.
Also interested to hear what others are doing.
I put stock on, but I needed replacements quickly!
Now I should shop around while I still have time.

Actually Suicide Jockey just replied on another thread:

991S brake specs here:

Spyder brake specs here:

Rotor diameter front and rear is the same on both cars if you do the metric-to-inches conversion.

Pagid list the rears as 4918
http://www.pagidracing.com/product-s...hape-4918.html
That says it's shared with non-S 911

Fronts are 4922
http://www.pagidracing.com/product-s...hape-4922.html

They might be wrong, but this would based on calipers/pad shape rather than disc size.

Anyone know the OEM pad part numbers and if they are shared with other models?

I connected with Girodisc and if anyone is interested in their part numbers:

"At any rate the 981 Spyder actually used the 991 C2S brakes which is our p/n A1-122 in the front and A2-032 in the rear and a 350mm upgrade at all four corners."

I'm likely going to go with these, just need to figure out the pads.

I think the pagids would be definitely worth it on the track, not sure they would be okay for daily driving though - wonder how squeaky they are?

Maybe the S/non-S 991 rears are the same then? Fronts definitely different.

Where abouts in Sydney are you - I grew up in Cronulla?

Great resource - thanks for the link!

Do you have to replace pads and rotors at the same time, or is that some made up stealership BS?

Don't have to, but for me the front rotors where starting to crack so they needed replacing.

Sydney - I'm north side, so I rarely get near Cronulla.

OP, I had Pagid yellows on my Cayman GTS and used them for track and street. Having said that unless you're planning on a lot of track time I would stick with OEM pads. The main benefit on track was better pad wear of the yellows. They are very noisy and annoying on he street. I felt braking performance was similar between the two.

Thanks. Just how many Spyders made it to Australia?

The price of cars is definitely a benefit of living in the US.

Thanks guys. The OEMs sound (no pun intended) just fine then for my needs.

As far as I can tell it is total fiction
