Default 981 Boxster Spyder options

Looking at 2016 Spyders and have two questions.

1. anyone know where i can get a list of what the available options were?

2. what options do you guys think are must haves?

Most people like the bucket seats...really the must have are the aftermarket mods as options if you ask me!

Car is stellar...you'll love it...clutch is much lighter than the GT4.

There are no performance options except for PCCB. Everything else performance related is standard, unless you count the buckets, which is a personal thing whether that's a + or -. Extended fuel tank is probably the only must have option. The rest is all personal preference (leather, radio, interior trim, wheel color, painted roll hoops, etc.).

Thanks for feedback so far guys.

I used this options list from Sonnen when I was looking for my Spyder.

If you try enough international Porsche websites and their builders you can probably find one where the 981 spyder is still up. I know the 981 Boxster, S and GTS is still there on plenty.

You need to not use the whole-page overview with cars. Start building a random car, then use the pulldown menu with other car models on the left top. That is currently broken in both Safari and Chrome on Mac but it is working for me in IE and Firefox on Windows and all Linux browsers. (Mac breakage might also be some ad or popup or overlay blocking I do)

Good candidates for undermaintained builders are Korea and the Netherlands.

Japanese builder has the 981 Spyder (via pulldown menu).

Clutches are identical, in spec and in feel. Clutch is relatively heavy on gt4/spyder, but very tolerable.

I don't even know why Porsche puts that stupid 'extended range' gas tank as an option, when that's the same tank on regular cars. If it was bigger, then okay. But smaller? Just put less gas if desired. And doubt the extra material weighs more than maybe 2 lbs. And I'd imagine clutch is the same as GT4, as both have identical drivetrain, for what I've read. But clutch could have a different slave cylinder, for easier assist; who knows. I'd take the poster who said it's lighter to his word, and find out why.

It modifies various measurements about curb weight and how some efficiency tests work. They say "fuel tank x% full", so if you by default have a smaller tank as a default you have better numbers. You then have it as an option and nobody actually skips that option.

Cosmetically, I love no wart on the back (breaks up the humps and brake light IMO), and no headlight washers (but very hard to find). Both add to the clean lines.

Have the classic interior with buckets in mine which I think is super special but not sure how easy/hard that is to find. Buckets themselves are personal preference but I love them and wouldn't be without them. Everything else is just purely up to what you like and don't like. Good luck, awesome car and won't go wrong.
