Default Roll Cage/Bar 2014 Cayman S

Just picked up a 2014 Cayman S and while googling around for a role cage (for DE and some open track days-No wheel to wheel right now), a thread popped up in the 981 forum, but it was an old(er) thread, so I replied there and started this one here. I hope that's ok.

The last response in the original thread is more than 4 years old, so I'm sure role cages/bars have come a long way in those 4 years for this car.

Any suggestions or recommendations for a role cage or roll bar bar for a 2014 Cayman S?

Thanks.

I have a BGB harness bar that also offers some overhead protection on my 2014. Easy bolt in install. Excellent fit. Does not interfere at all with visibility. Certainly not the same as a cage though.

I also just picked up a 2014 CS for track use. So I am also interested in the replies to the original post.

Thanks for the kind words! We have a few in stock and they can be drop shipped to you with or without powdercoating!

We couldnt agree more. We are one of only a few shops that have been turning out 981 and 991 based race cars. The cages have been very robust, to say the least. We use thicker OD and ID DOM mild steel for our cages vs. the Clubsport race cars These are full blown race cars though for club racing duty.

I saw one of your 981 race cars at a DE this past weekend. The cage structure was very impressive. I gotta have that wing too (Getty designs?).

Thanks! You must be talking about this car. I miss that thing. It was such an awesome car to drive. I did the PCA enduro in it at Daytona and it was making the same MPH as the GT4 Clubsport race cars. Yes, the aero is from Getty. I used that car as the prototype for his front 3 piece splitter. Where was this? VIR?

John, do you recall what the weight of this car is? I may be heading in this direction one day.

Another vote for BGB. Was very close to putting it in my GT4 but I sold it to get the GT3.

It was 2900 with 2 seats and all equipment installed. No lexan, no carbon.

For those that don't want to shell out 2k+ for a cage setup, I went with the agency harness bar.

Its about 600 and is a simple bolt in. Not ready to fully invest in a full cage as I'm also waiting for a buddy of mine who knows someone that is fabricating one.

Anywho, it doesnt offer any roll protection but does allow for harness installation if you need for aftermarket seats
