When my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (not Note) is connected to the PCM 3.1, there are some functions locked out and I don't understand why. For example, trying to change the ringtone.. it is on ringtone option 4. When I try to change it, it says on the bottom of the display "Function not currently available". Any ideas on why?

Try to delete the phone from the PCM and delete PCM from the phone. Make sure your phone has all the latest updates done prior to sync. Had similar problems with Galaxy phones and BMW iDrive and this always worked......GL.........Phil

Thanks for the suggestion, but no dice! I have a BMW with iDrive too and never had issues. I wonder if it is an Android vs ios thing? Going to try to pair an iPhone and see if that makes any difference.

OP.....did you ever find a fix? I just noticed today that I now have the same issue. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the last OS update on the phone........Phil

I had the same issue with my brothers iPhone. Still unable to change several features that should be changeable. Frustrating, but I still love my car.

Anyone else having this issue? I am on PCM 3.1 version 4.76 I think.

I did some google searching and it's becoming a common issue with no fix yet. Emails and text messages work fine. I just don't have a audible alert for incoming calls. The screen now shows (if memory is correct) accept or reject call. One thing to note on my end......system did a random reboot this past weekend and that has never happened........Phil

There is no network connection to the PCM system unlike newer BMW iDrive which has an embedded 3g or 4g SIM. That means BMW can push updates which can cause a reboot. Not sure why yours rebooted but unless Porsche did a sw update recently while in the shop, seems like a coincidence.
