Default Boxster Spyder 987 - What is this?

Found this 1" rubber component on my passenger seat. Seems simple - but haven't been able to identify where it goes? Anyone know?

Thanks, Mark

Is that the end cap trim on the end of the door? That's my best guess.

It's the end cap for the CF frame of our sun cover (top). Mine fell off a few months ago. Twice. Then I glued it in place. No problems since.

I've lost one of these, tried to track down the part number but doesn't seem to be identified separately from the CF frame? If anyone has any idea on part numbers for left and right would be appreciated.

I took a punt and ordered part 11 on 811-10, but no luck, these are for the regular Boxster roof. Note for anyone's future reference, these numbers below are NOT the correct numbers for the Spyder:

98756181302
98756181402
(if anyone needs these parts let me know, they're useless to me)

Time to give up and call my Porsche dealer...

Thanks for all the replies. DaveGee - could you post a picture of what the piece looks like attached. I must have lost the other side as well - as I do not see where the piece attaches.

Thanks, Mark

Sure, here you go.

And if this pic shows up upside down or sideways, I welcome tips on how to prevent it from happening.

Thanks DaveGee - Mystery solved! Fortunately I do still have the other side intact. Not the most obvious location to spot. And I'll also take the advice re: glue too.

Does anyone know the part numbers for these (I've now lost the other one!)? They do not appear anywhere in the PET...

(I can confirm that the following are definitely not the right parts: 98756181302 98756181402)

Finally got an answer on these. The rubber end caps are not available separately from Porsche, so make sure they are glued in nice and snug!

Local dealer said they are only available with the entire rubber seal for the CF roof, this little strip of rubber is only $765AUD... think I can live without the end caps now.

I am in the same position. Plugs lost
Confirmed that there is no way to get those without buying 1/2 car?

Take a Spyder for a test drive and "borrow" them. Or, slightly less illegally, return them after 3D scanning them so you can re-pop them.

Does anyone know if these pieces are glued in place or if they are press fit?

I would be willing to pull mine out if someone has the capability to reproduce them but only if they are press fit and can be safely removed.
