I don't understand what the problem is. Every 987.2 Spyder owner has 2 "source" parts that can be used to make the scan, right? What am I not understanding?

If you bought the car used already with these two bits missing, it’s not that easy.
And if you go to you dealer that has other two spiders (one for sale and one for service), both with no covers, I really cannot think where I could find them.

"If you want something done, do it yourself". That's always true.
So I took a cardboard and made a jig.
My Morgan dealer nicely gave me a piece of hard rubber.
A cutter, a dremel, sandpaper and some goodwill and the two parts were done.
Some high temperature black silicone to be used as "removable" glue, paper masking tape to keep it in place during the night, and the morning after a decent result at zero cost.

Before

Building pieces

The long night waiting to see the result

And finally, a decent result at zero cost

I’ve recently acquired 2011 Spyder - this is a best driver’s car I had so far. I’m also missing one of the plugs on the driver’s side. As far as i’m concerned these are two parts Porsche’s engineers forgot to eliminate during weight reduction exercise...

I just picked up a 2012 Spyder myself, and I am missing one of these caps. Best I can tell, the correct part numbers are the following:

98756112401 (right)
98756112301 (left)

And the best price I have seen is about $218 per side. Seems kind of crazy for just a rubber plug. Are these purely cosmetic (i.e. a finishing piece)? Can we get a group buy? lol

The only solutions I see are:
1. DIY (as I did)
2. A volunteer that make a 3d scan (both sides, they are different) and share it

Going to research where to get 3D print scans done. I’m not a tech oriented person. Thanks.

I do still have the driver side plug. I’ll check around.

Are you sure that part number isn't for the entire gasket and not just the plug?

Porsche do not sell the plugs only.

Thanks Alivchak! I'm not familiar with 3D printing. Do I just send this file to someone to have it printed, and specify the material to be used? I think my local UPS store does 3D printing.
