Anyone using Jackpoints with their Spyder?
#17
I have two pairs of Jackpoint jackstands with regular (not low profile) pads and the 1-inch riser pad. With my 981 Spyder there is 14 inches of clearance at the lowest point, the bottom of the triangular piece. The bottom of the exhaust tip was 17 inches off the ground. This was reasonable space to do oil change. It should be possible to do the work with low profle pad and without the riser pad, but I think it will be much less comfortable.
My jack has 3.5 inches minimum height. I had to prejack and put the tire on a wood block to gain enough clearance for the jack + riser pad + regular pad. The wood block was 6.25 inches tall and I had barely enough clearance. CORRECTION: Earlier I said only one corner needed the wood block, but I remembered wrong. Both rear jack points require putting a wood block under the tire. Even with one rear jackpoint on the jack stand, the other side couldn't quite clear the jack and the pads, about half an inch shy. No clearance problem with front jack points once the rears were up.
