Default New Owner of a 2011 Boxster Spyder with a question

The sports exhaust loudness doesn't appear to change between on and off. Is there a possibility that the exhaust actuator ( I am assuming it has one) isnt working? My wife has a 2014 S with exhaust and there is a significant difference in sound.

I posted a pic as an attachment. Not sure how to post 2 or 3.

Check to see if it's disconnected. I know some mod it so that it's always on. The 987.2 Spyder exhaust is super quiet... A little better with it on, but still silent compared to the 981.

The 'vacuum switch" (I hope I have the correct name for the part) fails on these fairly often. It's an easy fix. NICE CAR. If you bought it from a Porsche dealership just recently you might be able to get them to fix it for free.

Thanks. Yes, I did purchase it from a dealer. Very Happy with it. Exactly what I was looking for Red interior, 6 speed with the race seats. 8K miles. Very well maintained.

What a beautiful car.....not that I'm biased or anything.

If you're sitting in the garage and you hit the button you will definitely notice a difference at idle. If you're on the road at idle the differences is very subtle until you get above 3000 RPM. Above 3000 RPM there's a big difference.

But as Donovan noted earlier, even with the PSE turned on the sound inside the car isn't that loud. I do wish they turned it up a notch. I'm debating a new set of headers or new exhaust to make mine a bit louder.

Enjoy the car in good health and post up some of your impressions when you've had some time behind the wheel.

I beat you to it. I was at Braman looking at a 2012 with 18K miles and PDK (not exactly what I was wanting) and as I walked in they let me know that it was sold and by the way we just took delivery of a a 6 speed with 8K miles and the sport seats. I knew it was mine!

I would love to offer pics but I am kind of new to this and have no idea how the attachment function works.

Default 2 more pics. I figured it out.

For the exhaust, I may just figure out how to disconnect the exhaust switch and keep it open all the time. Any issue with that?

Looking good... IMHO full leather is a must... Looks more premium than the standard. I also like the 987.2 Spyder color blocking better than the 981 for the red/black interior. Congrats!

Kcobra, let me pile on and say huge congrats on this great pick up!

I have a spare 987 Spyder book/brochure that's a nice addition to keep with other documentation (i.e., window sticker, COA, etc.) on the car. Shoot me a PM if you would like me to send it your way and I'll drop it in the mail.

Best of luck with this beautiful Spyder!
