Just got a 981 CS...I saw this forum thinking it was for 981 caymans as well as boxster but damn....90% of the threads are "Spyder"
Who has figures on ratio between Boxster and Cayman sales?

It's just because it's the newest hottest thing out right now.
You'll probably see discussion shift towards the 718 once they release later this year and people start talking about the pluses/minuses, intricacies, and ownership experience of that platform.
BTW, congrats on the 918CS. Post some pics.

I think the forum titles are a bit confusing. There is another forum for all generations of Cayman and Cayman S:
https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...nerations-126/
But what about the Cayman GT4 or even GTS since they are left out of the forum title (the GT4 has its own forum but not the Spyder)? I suppose the above forum is where all the future 718 Cayman and Cayman S postings should go?
So by default, I guess that really makes this a Boxster (987 onwards all generations) forum? Maybe the forum titlings should be made less ambiguous? Since I have one of each, I lurk on both forums.

I think the Spyder and gt4 should be together. Why don't we just start posting everything 981 Spyder there? Why do we like sheep, just keep coloring inside the lines? In fact, the moderators could move all the Spyder threads there, and just change the sub forum name. No new forum!

It's an ongoing joke honestly, the moderators seem to completely ignore this forum even after multiple complaints about how the Cayman and Boxsters are split up. I bet we could say all sorts of crap on this forum and the moderators wouldn't catch it unless someone sends them a pm about it. . Just kidding of course....sort of.

Marine Blue, I already feel out of my element here and now you are telling me I've been posting on the incorrect sub-forum? Was it like this all along or did the rubrics change at some point? I think the Spyder crowd is a little different than the GT4 crowd. yes there is overlap, but I think these are two different personality profiles that share some commonality but also diverge in different directions. Boxster seems to be a good match -- but the engine.....?

Realistically they should separate the 987 from the 981 and keep a subforum for the GT4. The Spyder owners can continue posting in the respective normal area since there is a great deal of overlap with interior and certain mechanicals. I imagine as the GT4 and Spyders age the two might want to merge since the engines and transmissions are the same and you can glean information from other owners to address issues specific to the 3.8L engine that won't show up in the standard forum.
