Someone (a gm?) told me here that one person bought 4 Spyders.

the three 918 Spyders at Rennsport V last September at
Laguna Seca. He had two at the event. He even let me
drive his Hippie Livery 918...although I had just met him!
He is quite a guy...with a kind, generous soul!

There was a time (not that long ago) when Porsche was so
unsure it could sell all 918 of the Spyders that it had allocated
to the US market that it instituted the 918 VIP program to draw
customers as a 'hook'.
The initial 918 concierge/marketing person (Daniel Eastman,
a nice guy from Brazil & good racer) was let go & the 918
marketing program appeared 'troubled' for a while. Then
the US market finally got stronger, the 918 prototypes got
good press reviews vs the competition, David Donohue came
on board as the new Concierge & eventually all US 918's,
along with those destined for ROW, were sold! But PAG
sweated bullets for a while. We often forget that this
automotive business is highly cyclical...
'Anonymous' has two 918s...and two of everything else!
So indeed there are multiple 918 owners out there in the
'wild'!
Capitalism works!

I think it's rather cool that Porsche once operated as a boutique car maker... and is able to still create that aura even if it is not anymore. I get the Idea that Porsche wants its cake and wants to be able to eat it too and that is always something to strive for isn't it? I hope it can continue to deliver on this great history and I think the Spyder and GT4 and 911R are evidence that it can. Thank you Eduardo for chiming in....means a lot that you would make any appearance on a thread I started
